The
All Alaska Sweepstakes is accepting nominations for
the 2008 All Alaska Sweepstakes Queen.The Queen will
represent the All Alaska Sweepstakes Race with the utmost
of respect. She will be given a crown and cape to wear
throughout the historical event and will hold the title
Queen of the Centennial All Alaska Sweepstakes. The
Queen must reside in Nome for the entire duration of
the race. The Queen will officially start all dog teams
to leave on the race, March 26, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. and
greet the teams on their return. This
is your chance to become part of the celebration, part
of the history.

Nominee
must be a woman

vote equals $5.00 (U.S. Dollars)

Submit
the nomination form to P.O. Box 1696, Nome, Alaska 99762 with
nomination votes minimum of 20 x $5.00 ($100) Check, money
order, gold or cash accepted.

Applications are due to Kirsten Timbers by March 1st 2008.

The
contest winner will be determined by the greatest number of
votes submitted to Kirsten Timbers, on March 19, 2008 at 6:00p.m.
AST (Alaska Standard Time).
The All Alaska Sweepstakes Queen contestants must handle collecting
money, managing it for accuracy and submitting the funds collected
every Saturday by 12 noon. If the contestant lives in Nome,
they may hand their money directly to Kirsten Timbers. A receipt
will be given to the contestant for the monetary funds turned
in. Thank you for your interest and good luck!
The Queen winner will be announced on the All Alaska Sweepstakes
web site, GCI Scanner Channel, KNOM and KICY radio stations.
Expectations:
The Queen will represent the All Alaska Sweepstakes Race with
the utmost of respect.
The
Queen will be given a traditional crown and cape to wear throughout
the historical event and will hold the title “Queen of the
Centennial All Alaska Sweepstakes.”The Queen must reside
in Nome for the entire duration of the race.
The Queen will officially start all dog teams on the race, March
26, 2008 at 10:00a.m. and will greet the teams upon their return.
The Queen will be knowledgeable about the history of the race.
The Queen will encourage and promote the race in a positive manner.
The Queens Court, will be honored at the start of the race and
official functions in Nome.
The Queens Purse will be given as prize money for the second place
Musher in the All Alaska Sweepstakes.
The Queens Court will be determined in succession by the number
of votes obtain (minus expenses) to the succeeding mushers. This
means, Mushers coming in and placing Third, Fourth, Fifth, etc.
Benefits:
All Queen Contestant who raise 2,000 votes will receive a round-trip
airfare to Nome and housing accommodations in Nome for the week
of the race. Personal expenses will be paid by the contestant.
If a contestant lives in Nome, they will receive a round-trip
airfare to Anchorage to use at their desire within one year.
The Queens Court, will be honored at the start of the race and
official functions in Nome.
